A pay hike can make you happy for the time being but will that give you endless bliss? You may feel happy once you buy a house but will the happiness last each day of your life? These are short lived joys which can crash down on you anytime, once you discover that a colleague with lesser experience has a pay hike or when your neighbor buys a house too! Searching for bliss never ceases to die. It lies there, kindling flames in the very heart of hearts. A newborn baby is the perfect example for complete bliss. It never runs about seeking something. It can ask for food in its own way by crying or moving its hands towards the food. It is contented once it feels full. But this is not the case with an adult. The search for something which gives endless bliss constantly drives us in search of so many pleasures in this world. But many do not realize that our existence is a blessing to rejoice about. Meditation every day can give you a peace of mind like no other!

A time for yourself:
• Take a look at what you have been blessed with.
• If you are unhappy about something, first accept it without worrying about the consequences.
• Close your eyes and sit to meditate without any other thought in mind.

These are just a few ways to help you relieve stress and appreciate our presence in this world.

Your fingers are the most essential and useful parts of your body. You can never imagine doing stuff without fingers or in that case nails too. Nails are made up of layers of keratin but are one of the most sensitive areas of the body and also receiving abundant supply of blood! Any accidental trauma or infection of the nail causes unbearable pain and profuse bleeding. The nail has specific parts – the root, nail bed, nail plate and lunula. The nail root extends several millimeter inside the fingers. It is the germinal layer of the nail, producing all the required keratin. The translucent nail plate is pink in color and contains keratin. It has grooves on the under surface, for anchoring it to the nail bed. Nail bed is the skin on the under side of the nail plate. Lunula is the half moon on your nail which all would have noticed! Nail infections are pretty common and injury is also frequent. Whitish patches on the nail plate indicate calcium deficit while loss of pink color of the nails points to the anemic condition of the person. Persons who are well nourished have smooth, pink colored nails. Improper diet causes cracking of nails. Hence people are advised to contact a physician if there is any nail deformity suspecting it some serious cause. Take care of your nails and know your nutritional state too!

Almost 90% of people are self conscious about their hair as a thing of beauty! But as a matter of fact, special care is needed to maintain a healthy hair. You will probably be surprised when your hairdresser says you have oily scalp but dry hair. This is known as combination hair or mixed condition hair. You may treat oily scalp and make your hair drier or the opposite and make your scalp oilier! But there is a way to treat the condition.

How to find out:
An oily face means an oily scalp. In case the forehead and the central part of the face are oily but the hair is dry, then it’s a mixed condition. In another case, the hair roots may be oily but drier at the ends. Finding out the condition is as important as treating it!

Treatment:
Wash your hair with anti-dandruff shampoo to clear the dandruff scales. Washing is a must for treating this mixed condition. Dry ends can be treated by the use of a conditioner. This treats only the ends and does not make the shaft oily. Rinse your hair after conditioning. Henna applied at the roots of the hair will help to absorb extra oil. If not rinsed, it will attract and hold dirt. Scalp astringent after shampooing can also be used. Moisture can be restored by application of hair serum at the ends of hair. You must control dandruff, modify oil lubrication and counteract dryness of hair to treat this condition!

SCUBA diving is a commonly used word by those who are in for a quick rush to capture the deep sea life of fishes and corals. What many don’t realize is that SCUBA isn’t a type of diving but is the abbreviated form for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. It has been developed to make deep sea diving a safe sport and to prevent the hazards of deep sea pressure effects. At first deep sea diving was limited to professional divers and even a hazard for them. Without this apparatus, divers are exposed to all perils such as air embolism, nitrogen bends and decompression sickness due to rapid ascent. SCUBA was designed to overcome these problems. The gear carried by the diver consists of a tank containing breathing mixture, a mask and valve system. The divers can remain underwater only for a short period of time depending on the O2 availability and the depth of diving. But if the diver ascends rapidly without exhaling, he is subject to the gas expansion inside the lungs to such an extent that the alveolar walls may tear and cause air embolism in the brain or heart. Treatment is oxygen and recompression to drive out the air. SCUBA diving is considered safe as people take all the necessary precautions but still they are advised to take a companion along in case of any untoward emergency!
